Community Darkroom
Public Community Darkroom
The White River Craft Center proudly offers the only public community darkroom in Central Vermont. We are equipped for developing and printing 35mm, 120, and 4x5 film.
Our black and white, fully analog darkroom in downtown Randolph is a space to slow down, step away from screens, and create lasting works of art.
Community Darkroom:
2001 - Today
The Community Darkroom grew from a shared vision among local photographers, educators, and supporters who believed that photography should remain accessible, hands-on, and community-centered. Equipment donated by photographers and institutions, including Vermont Technical College (now Vermont State University), helped establish a rare resource for the region. Classes, workshops, youth projects, and open access opportunities allowed photographers to learn traditional film processing and darkroom printing techniques.

There are many items that make weaving easier but aren’t needed on a daily basis. At the WRCC Fiber Studio, we have a library fiber tools, from spinning wheels and warping boards to fringe winders, irons and a hot mangle. Membership in a community studio means that you can get basic training on these tools and access them as needed, rather than having to purchase them.
Instructor
Albo Greene, Studio Manager
Albo Greene is a photographer, cinematographer, and musician based in Vermont exploring magical realism, pictorialism, and photography’s poetic and tactile forms.
Raised in Kansas City and educated at the School of Visual Arts in NYC, she worked in the film industry on narrative and commercial projects for over 10 years before shifting back to still images and analog methods. She still enjoys providing high quality photography and video work for small companies and artists.
In addition to visual arts, Albo is classically trained vocalist and violinist playing traditional Irish music, mythological airs, experimental folk rock, and other realms as whim directs.
She is a studio artist at the White River Craft Center in Randolph, Vermont, where she manages the community darkroom, as well as offering events, workshops, and classes.
Albo is available for collaboration in most art forms.
